Walker Evans and his use of composition to amplify the storytelling capacity of his works.

Walker Evans is perhaps most notorious for his captivating photographs of the Great Depression. However, his impact goes way beyond the storytelling, selection of topics and the craftmanship. Three ways in which he contributed to the development of photography as an art domain that are relevant to me are:

- His use of abstract in framing the composition,
- His understanding of the space and perspective.
- Cross sections and overlapping symbolism of selected subjects leading often to creation of the narratives. Important on their own or in the context.

One can only wander how creative and observant a photographer he was producing such outcome with his contemporary technical limitations and constrains.
