Cecil Beaton - man for all seasons (or types of light and expression)

Cecil Beaton (aka Sir Cecil Walter Hardy Beaton, CBE ) born in 1904, died in 1980 - was a British fashion, portrait, and war photographer, diarist, painter, and interior designer, as well as an Oscar-winning stage and costume designer for films and the theatre.

He is close to my identity as a photographer as photography is one of my social roles, skills, and facets. I share many fascinations with Cecil and admire his creativity and professional heritage. Because of his painter's dimension, he was comfortable with all sorts of light. Studio light (very limited at the time), film set or stage set lights, as well as the natural light, be it direct sun coming through a canopy of the forest or the gloom, rainy weather English outdoor in Autumn.
